IPL laser for Acne

The IPL laser can treat both inflammatory lesions as well as scars. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) uses high intensity light source to emit polychromatic light in a broad wavelength spectrum (400-1400nm) and it utilizes filters to better regulate the light spectrum to target skin problems with minimal discomfort and downtime. It is the newest and latest technology to provide a variety of aesthetic and therapeutic treatments for acne. We feel that the IPL laser is an excellent way to treat acne and avoid antibiotics with side effects. Research shows that the bacteria that causes acne is reduced by IPL. SkinPen Microneedling

Probably our most exciting, new procedure in the office, microneedling is here! We use the Skin Pen by Bellus Medical because it is the only FDA cleared microneedling device. Microneedling is an innovative way to treat acne scars, fine lines, deep wrinkles, and photodamage to improve the overall appearance of the skin. We use the FDA approved Skin Pen to create thousands of precise microchannels in the skin. This leads to the release of grown factors, which stimulate new healthy collagen, and directs new blood flow to the treated skin. The result is a softer, brighter, younger looking complexion. It also allows the penetration of products into the skin. We can even apply platelet rich plasma therapy (PRP directly to the skin post procedure to create a “Vampire Facelift.” Microneedling is perfect for someone who may not have a lot of downtime and is struggling with acne scars or just wants to improve

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is an in-office procedure during which an acid solution is applied to the surface of the face. The solution is left on for a few minutes, after which time it is removed or neutralized. Most people experience some mild tingling during a chemical peel, which usually takes only a few minutes to complete. Following a chemical peel, the skin may ‘flake off’ for a couple of days before revealing newer, healthier looking skin beneath the surface. Chemical peels are useful for improving the appearance of the skin and conditions like hyperpigmentation, fine lines, sun damage, acne scars and age spots. Chemical Peels Glytone 70 percent glycolic peel This peel works for acne especially blackheads as well as antiaging. It has no downtime and is well tolerated. We often recommend using the Glytone Facial Cleanser and glycolic lotion at home to help enhance results. The cost is $90/peel
